As a psychotherapist, I work under constant supervision. In my practice, I follow the ethical principles set out in the Ethical Code of the Polish Psychological Association.
Psychotherapy for Adults
About the Method
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
is a recognized method for treating mental and emotional disorders. It focuses on the psychological roots of emotional suffering. Characteristic features of psychodynamic therapy include self-reflection, self-examination, and using the therapist-patient relationship as insight into problematic relationship patterns in the patient’s life.
At the Mind center, I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy conducted by a psychotherapist in accordance with ethical principles and the latest guidelines.
Analytical Psychotherapy
is a therapeutic method. It is a form of clinical practice based on psychoanalytic theories and principles of understanding the human being. During psychotherapy, the therapist and the patient create a therapeutic relationship in which they reflect on important events and relationships in the patient’s life.
The psychotherapist helps the patient discover connections between deep emotional issues related to the past and difficulties in the patient’s current life.
They also help the patient understand, name, and integrate various aspects of the relationship between therapist and patient. In psychotherapy, with the therapist’s help, the patient reaches unconscious feelings that may relate to significant conflicts and, as a consequence, distort reality or block emotional awareness, self-perception, and self-esteem.
Who Is It For?
Psychotherapy is helpful for people suffering from anxiety, depressive, and obsessive disorders, which may manifest as difficulties in close relationships, helplessness after unsuccessful attempts to overcome problems, lack of self-confidence, eating disorders, developmental crises, or difficulties in raising children.
An important criterion for choosing this form of help is the patient’s motivation, curiosity about themselves, and desire to get to know and understand themselves—not merely the wish to eliminate symptoms.
Individual Psychotherapy
Individual psychotherapy consists of regular meetings between the patient and the therapist. Meetings can take place once a week or more often. Therapy sessions always last 50 minutes.
Consistency in session time, frequency, and place, as well as the therapist’s non-directiveness, are essential conditions for a situation conducive to healing.
The goal of psychotherapy may be help in a specific area or a thorough change. The scope of help influences the duration of psychotherapy.
How Long Does Psychotherapy Last?
The duration of psychotherapy is always individual. Both the decision to start and to end therapy are discussed in detail with the patient.
Consultations
Consultations last 50 minutes and range from 2 to 4 meetings. A consultation serves to initially understand the reason for the visit. Neither the patient nor the therapist is obliged to further cooperation. During the consultation, the therapist strives to get to know the patient and propose the best possible help. The scope of help is determined, along with the setting—that is, meeting frequency and the duration of psychotherapy.
